Olympic Influence

Vincent and I watched the women win two medals in bobsledding and Vincent said whoa that looks like fun. He immediately started practicing his entry and driving positions for the one man bobsled. All he needs to do now is get the darn thing moving. Not enough ice around here this winter to practice.

Vincent wants to go fishing.

Vincent wants to go fishing but he still has a way to go before he can reach the top of the aquarium. We will soon be able to take him down to the lake for his first casting lesson.

Laughing or Crying

Vincent bumped into something and yelled out for some attention. It was just a small bump as Vincent couldn't decide whether he should laugh or cry about his situation. Perhaps the sight of the camera made him realise it was his time to perform.

Vincent's Babysitter Encounter

Mom and Dad went off to see Avatar leaving Vincent with the babysitters. Vincent and the babysitters faced numerous challenges not least of which was the abscence of baby bottles which were inconveniently located in the kitchen at home. The babysitters ran out twice to buy new ones but Vincent would not come around to them as they were not his usual brand. Mom had to return before he felt comfortable enough to enjoy a good feed. Vincent told us he was well entertained and did not really miss us at all. Thanks to the fine babysitting crew (Joe, Tay, Tim, Andrew, Karen, Bob, Maggie and Teddy) in Pickering and the movie was great.

Learning to Skype

Vincent skyped Bill on the weekend and a chatted for a few minutes. Notice the fine learning computer he used. Dad's and Mom's computers are still off limits. Vincent much prefers an external mouse as he is always trying to grasp ours.

Dad was fooling around with the camera and whenever Vincent sees a camera he has to be in the picture. He is such a ham for the camera.

Family Day

Family day is a holiday in Ontario so we went to the festivities at Kew Gardens. Luisa was able to feed the alpaca (hoping for a sweater) and Vincent had to be held back from going on the camel ride. Good thing Auntie Karen was around to hold him back. The outing was followed by pints of Belgian gold for the ladies and Guiness for the men. Unfortunately the laws being what they are Vincent was unable to join us for a pint, however, he did quality control on the colour and the glass.

Super Bowl Sunday.

He we all are on Super Bowl Sunday evening. Of course Vincent steals the show.

Super Bowl Menu

Vermouth marinated scallops with chorizo and green olives. So good someone can't wait for the photograph.

Sunday was the Super Bowl at the beach and here is the menu. The game and the performance of the Who was so good that the photographer missed taking shots of the main course and the desert. Anyway the main course was veal on kaisers, served with the fries above and sweet potato fries and the desert was double chocolate creme brule. Luisa and I will need to start exercising. Birthday Cars!

Lucky Vincent received a set of pull and go toy cars from Auntie Karen, Uncle Bob and family. He is still figuring out how to make them go but when they go boy do they go. Those Chinese can sure make toys. With four of the cars flying around the living room Vincent wasn't sure which one to go for first. From these photographs it is clear the girls didn't get cars when they were young, but they sure want one now.

Vincent's Birthday Feb 3rd and we had the biggest snow fall so far this winter in the Beach. All in all there was about 2cm so it has been a relatively snow free year. But it did snow for Vincent's Birthday.
