A trip to Arequipa

Dad was off to Arequipa to visit the University. Arequipa is Peru's second largest city with about a million people. The city is located at the base of three Volcanos with El Misti being the largest. At 2,335m it is not as warm as Lima. These picures are from the hotel overlooking the main square.

Jcterus galbuda - Male

The Baltimore Orioles like to visit the apple trees in blossum during the spring. This means they are frequent visitors to the backyard where their songs can be heard. As they like the top ot the trees a good picture is hard to get.

Annual Visitor

This is the second spring that the Canada Warbler passed through the backyard on the way up north. My nomination for the official bird of the country.

A Warbler

There is no identification of this warbler visiting the backyard as Vincent has hid my bird book. He likes to read it and has stashed is someplace for him to find at a later date. Update when I find it or some blog reader provides a positive id.

Play the guitar

During a not so recent trip to Uncle Marc's, I know I am behind in posting Auntie Patty, Vincent had the experience of listening to Uncle Marc's guitar playing. If Uncle Marc has time lessons are in the future.

Easter Dinner

Vincent had the Easter appetite after all the fresh air. He was ready to eat the turkey himself.

Easter 2011

On Easter morning Vincent discovered chocolate eggs well hidden by the easter bunny throughout the house. After a little searching he was able to find every one of the eggs. In the afternoon after being well fed with chocolate he was off to the easter parade.

The Easter parade is one of the beach highlights. This year Vincent was old enough to enjoy the parada along with Mom and Dad.
