Required: Another trip to baby's r us

It looks like it is time for another trip to baby's r us. This time it is to hold the doors and drawers closed as Vincent is very curious to see what is inside.

Satisfaction

Dad just put on a new pamper which Vincent takes as a signal to go for it. Pamper stocks are highly recommended. We will soon have to get him a fishing or maybe a golf magazine.

Rocking Chair Hazard.

Well the old rocking chair has it hazards for Vincent. It seems like he can crawl under it no problem but getting out it a bit difficult for him. He let us know he was not happy to be stuck again.

Old and New Photographs

A photo from 1956 and one from 2010 showing 11 month old infants.

More winter visitors.

The latest northern visitor to the beach is the common goldeneye otherwise known as Bucephala Clangula. Pictured here is the male of the species. These may be found in the summer as south as Montreal but winters in balmy Toronto.

A Sign of Spring

It's -10C on the beach today but the buffleheads are thinking of spring. Here are the males trying to impress the females and chasing away any intruders. It is a sure sign that spring is not that far away.

Not Yet Walking.

Vincent is not yet walking but is getting around.

They are better on the floor.

Vincent thinks a stack of new pampers should be on the floor and not on top of the radiator. Much easier to play with on the floor.

Vincent makes an appearance.

When sitting quietly watching a football game Vincent sneaks up to the side of the chair and makes an appearance. More often then not it is fourth and goal from the one.

Continuing appearance.

Once Vincent makes an appearance he sticks around and try's to get some attention.

Uncle Bob's Birthday

Last week was Uncle Bob's Birthday so here is Uncle Bob with his Birthday Pie.

They Prorogued Parliament !!!!!

Vincent's reaction when he heard they prorogued parliament. He does not like to see those fat cats on vacation especially since they tax his pampers.

Last of the ice on the beach?

Last of the ice on the beach? Probably not, but the snow is disappearing along with the ice, current temperature +5C.

Awaiting January Thaw

We are still paitently awaiting the January thaw, due later this week.

The Oldsquaws are here!

Winter in Canada brings the Oldsqaw "Clangula hyemalis" family to the beach. These sea ducks like the cool air as they spend their summers north of Hudson Bay in the salt water. The mostly white males are showing off their winter colours while the females are showing off their diving skills.

January Night on the Beach

It's January but with the lights on the beach and gently falling snow it still feels a lot like Christmas. Here are the trees that are lit with Christmas lights along the boardwalk and the lights on the lifeguard station.

Vincent has brown eyes.

There has been a bit of a debate on Vincent's eye colour. They started out blueish then were identified as hazel but now it looks like they are brown. They are a light brown though.
