Some Big Dragonflies

Some big dragonflies have been buzzing and hovering around the level of the house roof all week. One landed in the snowball tree when I was out with Vincent. These common green darners "Anax junius" have good camoflage against the tree.

A Sign of Autumn

The Monarch butterflies have started to gather at the beach before flying across the lake and then south to Mexico. A sure sign that autumn is on the way.

A Bucket of Water and a Pail

Someone left a bucket of water in the backyard so Vincent grabbed his red pail and emptied it out. It was a warm day so where better to put then on himself. He might not find this so amusing in December.

One Dirty Baby

Vincent decided that it is fun to play with the dirt in the flowerpot. As a result he managed to get himself pretty dirty. Between playing in the pot and picking unripe tomatoes Vincent has pretty much put an end to Dad's tomato crop for this year.

Luisa's Daisies

Luisa's daisies add some colour to the beach backyard. Luisa is the only one here who can grow them as all the ones that dad planted have bit the dust. I am not sure what variety these are but they are nice.

Vincent Has a Nap

As Vincent get's older he has started to sleep a little more. This day he fell asleep in his stroller after a tour through the local park.

Waiting for Lunch

Vincent silently contemplates why lunch is taking so much time to arrive.

After the Storm.

The clouds cleared and the sun came out as the storm continued on it's way across the lake.

Summer Storm

We have missed most of the thunderstorms this year at the beach. They have either passed north or south of us but this day the rain came down like in the tropics. Not much wind or lightning but a good deal of rain.

What's for Dinner Uncle Bob?

BBQ beef on a stick, some green things the ladies put together, and homemade blueberry pie for dessert. Isn't summer great?

Teddy Time

Vincent likes to play with Teddy the little black dog. Teddy doesn't mind as Vincent is learning to throw the ball for Teddy to fetch.

Nap Time

Vincent and Mom have a nap after an afternoon in the pool.
