It was 33C at the farm and there is no pool. Vincent did find a way to cool down with lots of splashing going on.

Endangered in Canada, at risk in the US these Athene cunicularia (burrowing owls) can still be picked up roadside in the D.R. for grilling on the evening BBQ. We saw these at the farm. They live in the ground much like praire dogs or groundhogs.

A Trip to the Farm.

We took a walk on the farm when visiting Luisa's Aunt in Guayubin, San Fernando de Monticristi Province Dominican Republic. Shown is the plantin grove and some of the milking cows. Various other fruits and vegetables are also grown. It is so hot and dry the land needs to be irrigated. Sometimes there is lots of thunder and clouds but no rain to speak of.

Pizza Party

The neices enjoy a "quatro stagiones" pizza, back at the house, from the wood burning oven at the Bologna Restaurant in Sosua.

Scooting on a Tile Floor

It is much warmer in the Dominican Republic so Vincent didn't need his warm clothes so he can go with the Roman look. Here he is showing off his scooting skills as he moves across the tile floor towards the camera on his knees. Perhaps this will be the last time we see him showing these skills.

The Girls Get Together

Luisa's Mom, Sister and two nieces visited us at the house in Sosua. Here are Lucia, Belkis, Crismeris, Johanna and of course Luisa. By the way the Dominican girls are afraid of frogs especially those found behind the hanging plates.

Visit to Montreal

Well the family missed the direct flight (!!!! Toronto traffic) so we were re-routed through Montreal which resulted in a wonderful evening with Aunties Patty and Beth and Uncles Mike and Chris. We thank Auntie Patty and Uncle Mike for the wonderful hospitality and the morning trip to the airport. Vincent enjoyed everyone's company but he did talk so much about the limo ride that eventually Aunt Beth and Uncle Chris fell asleep to his story. Vincent is going to have to improve his story presentation.

Vincent does the stretch

Juwel brought the stretch limo to take us to the airport so Vincent and Luisa enjoyed their first trip in the stretch. Vincent talked a lot about the ride which he enjoyed very much.
