Happy Horse

Dad cannot remember the toys he played with when he was young other than the one or two that may be in an old picture. But toys have changed even since the nieces, nephews, and friends children were young. So a theme on our blog will be to capture some of the favourites. Here is one of Vincent's earliest the happy horse rattle and as you can see it has been well used.

Spheniscidae Soup

Vincent wanted to tell Uncle Marc he enjoyed the Spheniscidae Soup very much. It looked like the Speheniscidaes were passed through a blender. Final Score; Canadiens 5: Penquins 2. The photos show 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 and 4-0.

Can he keep those 88s straight?

Here we have Vincent jiving to the music from the keyboard. He is getting the synthesizer down but needs Auntie Patty's help with the 88 keys. When can he sign up for piano lessons Auntie Patty?

Morning Exercises

Vincent likes to do his morning stretching on the sunny back deck. Of course the exercises are much more fun with Leggo.

Zonotrichia leucophrys

This is the first royalty to visit the beach backyard since Vincent got his crown. The white crowned sparrows visited on the weekend to say hi to Vincent.

Hermit Thrush

The second thrush species to visit the beach backyard is the hermit thrush ( Catharus guttatus). They seem to like the shade under the maple tree. I don't recall every seeing thrushes except at a distance so it is fun to see them in the back yard.

Watching the Hockey Game

Dad likes to watch the hockey game with Vincent.

Vincent is 15 months old.

Vincent was 15 months old this week so we took some closeups in front of the snowball tree.

White Throated Sparrow

Several white throated sparrows (Zonotritchia albicollis) visited the back yard last week. I thought they may stick around as they were collecting sticks and things but they have not been back all week. The second of the native species of sparrow to visit this year.
