Mudslide

The source of the mudslide.

The road is completely blocked by mud and rocks.

Traffic starts to move again.

Where did that ditch come from?

My trip to the mine was delayed by a mudslide in the desert. It was caused by someone's irrigation channel not being constructed properly. Well this tied up traffic for a while. This post and the following show the clean up as it happened. Who would think a delay like this could be entertaining. After finally making a path a couple of vehicles managed to squeeze through but one unlucky driver miscalulated and got stuck in the ditch.

Mudslide II

Why don't we move the rock!

Next step pull the truck out of the ditch.

Moving again the foreman is happy with a job well done.
After some inovative thinking by those who were waiting everyone is on the move again. It's a good thing the transports have a cable under the trailer for these types of situations.

A Visit with Tesla

Vincent visits and learns about the work of Nicola Tesla the inventor of the electric induction motor and designer of the generators for the world's first hydroelectric plant. Vincent was thrilled by the explanation of electromagnetism as he is facinated by electricity and magnetism and particularly light.

Horseshoe Falls

Here are the horseshoe falls. Lots of tourists this day to view the falls. A trip on the maid of the mist will have to wait until next time.

All Packed Up

After the cottage and camping trip is time to pack and head off home. Vincent shared his space with all the camping and cottage stuff.

Monday at the Campground

A holiday Monday at the campground with Mike and Patty; Dave, Jan and Michael. Vincent loved to hear all those West Indian stories. Yes, that is Luisa in lake Ontario!

By the Lake

Monday was spent at the hogie freee day use area soaking up the sun and playing by the lake. Throwing rocks into the water just comes naturally to Vincent.
